Your DSO decides
Your DSO authorizes CPT in SEVIS for a specific employer and period, and the authorization prints on your Form I-20. You can't start work before it is authorized. We help you gather what your school asks for; we don't decide eligibility.

Can I start an internship before my CPT is authorized?
No. The start date has to be on or after the date your DSO authorizes CPT in SEVIS.
